So Anyway.......

Do you think that going to a "church" building does anything for you?  Why do it?  Is it because the Bible says

Sometimes I Have To Wonder.....

Well, actually I wonder about a lot of things lately.  Like why do people have to complain all the time yet never try to do anything different?  I know I tried in the community where I live and got nowhere.

Jas 5:9 Tells us not to complain about each other,

Time to Leave and Return...

So for the past 6 or more months I had been involved in our community and was attempting to "do good" for the residents that live here.  That didn't exactly work out the way I had thought that it would back in Nov / Dec of 012.

This was even after I had prayed about, discussed it with my wife, talked it over with others and on and on, seeking as much advice as possible.

Well , It has ended and

Just Grace or More?

 21For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you either. 22Therefore, consider God’s kindness and severity: severity toward those who have fallen but God’s kindness toward you — if you remain in His kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. 23And even they, if they do not remain in unbelief, will be grafted in, because God has the power to graft them in again. 24For if you were cut off from your native wild olive and against nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these — the natural branches — be grafted into their own olive tree?

There are those that say that once we are "grafted in" , there is no more for us to be doing. While it is true that we are "saved" by grace and it is grace alone, the Bible does seem to give us directions on what we are to be doing in our lives as we show our obedience to God!

However, it seems also that many are content to not pay too much attention to anything the Bible says about what we are to be doing and are content.

They go to a building week in and week out and are content with the songs they sing and the talks they hear and figure it must be right cause the "preacher" said so.

It seems there ARE some things we are to be doing.  Otherwise why would the Bible have warnings like the one above about being cut off , and not being spared?

I mean the Pope said all you have to do is "do good".  Not sure what that means but it sounds good and while I believe you should do "good" , I also believe there is more to it than JUST that.  Just cant seem to put my finger on it to be able to verbalize what it is.

 Is it ALL by Grace and Grace alone, or are there things we are to be doing and should be doing in our daily lives?

Ever Feel Like a Leper

In the day to day world we are stuck in it is easy to get ourselves lost and caught up in things.  Somedays I feel so depressed

To Face or Not To Face……

That seems to be the question a lot anymore when it comes to social network sites.  Just how useful are they?

Sure, you can post updates to what you are doing, but how many actually get to see it or even respond to what you have to say?

I often wonder, where is the communication?  Isn’t that what we were told the purpose of social sites was all about---communicating?  So Where is it?

Sure , it’s nice reading thru all the status updates and a few you may even “like”, but there seems to still be a lack of communicating with one another.

Years ago, we were involved in a number of message boards.  There was a lot of conversations going on that were pretty good and we learned a lot from those times. 

So where has all that conversation gone?  Facebook, Google+ and others seem to be more centered on self status updates and less on actually having a conversation about something.
So we started a new message board to try to overcome all that.
